Contemporary Sportsters are quite lighter and diminutive than the other models of Harley. On the occasion of Sportster's 50th anniversary, Harley-Davidson introduced a special limited edition called "XL50" in 2007. In 2008, the company released new model called "XR1200 Sportster" exclusively for Africa, Europe and the Middle East market.
